Interestingly, an important detail and a reflection of the passage of time (the wear of the heads of each nail). Some of the floors and ceilings in my house have square nails in them still...hand crafted nails from two-hundred and fifty years ago...before precision cutting and machinery whereby millions can be made in a few seconds. I loved finding them because knowing each nail was, at one time, held and carved by a single hand intrigued me. Nostalgia is wonderful!
