But my favorite garden tool, the one I'd ask to be reincarnated as (assuming garden tools were my only choice) is the spading fork. Do you know that implement--generally four tines, not needle-like as on the pitchfork, but stouter, in the form of a spade shovel with a "D" handle. It's mainly used for turning and breaking up soil that has been previously worked, as one would turn and loosen an existing vegetable bed for spring planting.Jim Pangbornnoreply@blogger.com
